Also known as 'Ragged Point' Lighthouse, this one is on the most easterly point of Barbados looking out over the Atlantic.  I read that there was a plan afoot to restore it, but I don't think that happened.  This is one of four (and the only one I have) stamps from 2013 celebrating the four lighthouses in Barbados.  None of them are open.

I have shown this before, but as we have new people to our group, it is worth showing again.  This is a huge Pysanka sculpture.  It is 31 feet long and three and a half storeys high.  A colourful roadside attraction in Alberta.

I like how Finland has a small map showing where the National Parks are located.

In 1949, Newfoundland and Labrador (plum colour) became the tenth province. In 1999, The Northwest Territories (purple colour) split creating three territories.

Sometimes it is good to have a map of all the islands so you can see where in relation to the others your specific island is located.

Sunday Stamps - 'Y'

1979, Barbados

This 1¢ Grassland Finch was the first of 17 definitives issued in 1979.  They have been found in Barbados since around 1960 and are known locally as Grass Canaries. Its colouring ranges from bright yellow underparts to olive yellow upperparts (males) to dull yellow underparts and pale brown upperparts (females). They are protected by law in Barbados, yet are still poached for pets.
