picturesque

Luxembourg City as seen in 1995. I like the near uniform height of the buildings that allow the spires to rise above the rooftops. In the foreground you can see the casements, first built by the Spaniards in the mid 17thC, then enlarged by the French, then again by the Austrians.

Confederation Bridge

Too big for not just one stamp, but also two stamps. The Confederation Bridge links New Brunswick with Prince Edward Island. It is 8 miles long (12.9 km) and is the world's longest bridge over ice-covered waters (the Northumberland Strait). And I would need to be seriously tranquilized to drive over it. There is a shuttle service for cyclists and pedestrians.
The Cape Jourimain Lighthouse is on the New Brunswick side. It has been decommissioned since 1997 with the opening of the bridge and the end of the ferry service. Now, the area surrounding the lighthouse is a natural wildlife reserve.

2015, Germany, Most Beautiful Panoramas

This is the Chiemsee with a view to Gstadt and the Chiemgau Alps in Bavaria. The sun is shining on the water, but the mountains are not clear. And the side panels show a misty view of trees. I am imagining this is early morning.

1984 NABA ZURI National stamp show Jun 22 - July 1
se-tenant stamp showing a panorama view of Zurich

Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland and was 'founded' by the Romans in 15BC, though there is evidence it was settled more than 6400 years ago. Each stamp shows one of the four major churches in the old town. On the far right you can see the Grossmünster, followed by the Predigerkirche, St Peter's and the Fraümunster. The Limmat river and the Münsterbrucke are front and centre.
