vintage and contemporary postcards and stamps from around the world

toys and tiere

Children's toys were the theme for 1979 Christmas stamps.  It was the Year of the Child that year, and antique toys were photographed by Arnaud Maggs.

Here we have a wooden train and, instead of the rocking horses of last week, a rolling horse

Germany has had a few of these adorable tierkinder - young animals.  A pole cat and a wild boar

and haus tiere - or pets

Although I don't have to buy for Christmas, I like to see them. These are adorables!

I love the way the toy stamps are designed. And who wouldn't enjoy the baby animals? My T stamps are here: https://envelope100.blogspot.com/2025/12/t-is-for.html

The house pet Border Collie is my favorite breed. I have that stamps, it came on a Border Collie Postcrossing postcard! The baby pigs (tapirs?) are adorable!
