elegance of brown

Brown is the least preferred colour of autumn, and yet that was expected to be the more predominant one this year due to our very dry, hot summer.  So, here is a more elegant Brown.

The Brown Palace Hotel located in the heart of downtown Denver has been offering old world elegance to travelers, business people and celebrities since 1892.
It boasts one of the first atrium style lobbies which rises eight stories with balconies of cast iron railings and ornate grillwork.
Afternoon Tea in the Grand lobby is a cherished tradition that continues to this day ($65 and up)

However, I like brown. And of course I'd like to visit this lobby --although it is a bit expensive, to be honest.

My brown view is here.

That reminds me of the old City of Paris department store in San Francisco (since torn down, replaced with a modern Neiman Marcus, a shame). My mother and I would visit every year on our S.F. Christmas shopping day. It was open in the middle like that, with a huge Christmas tree in the middle, and balconies like that to view it from the six floors. Balconies or mezzanines? A glass dome too. We called them mezzanines, but I'm not sure what those are! Anyway, I like that hotel!

I like the geometry in this image. Good composition and colors.
