Sunday Stamps - D

1987, Djbouti

These are also known as parasol mushrooms and are found in all kinds of wooded areas with subspecies in Europe, Asia, North and South America, and Africa. Apparently it is very tasty. But, only the caps are edible.

Superbly informative illustration. I love finding fungi in the woods. We are promised a good autumn for mushrooms here because of this year's weather pattern.

Beautiful stamp. Love the colors and the design, and of course, the mushrooms.

I don't know if they are tasty, but they look very beautiful on the stamp.

I love how the artist included a cross section, a young, and an adult version of the mushroom.
