in the wild

 I have never seen a hedgehog in the wild, but I think they are adorable creatures

I have, however, seen countless raccoons in the wild.  I'm not sure I would consider them 'adorable'

    There is Hedgehog Rescue place near me although happily I have never come across one in need of rescue.

    I've never seen a hedgehog either. Raccoons, yes, they live in my neighborhood. I think they're cute, but not animals to mess with, they can tear other animals apart.

    I used to have a hedgehog at my door in a previous house, in the calm winter nights. I loved it, but... it make a lot of noise!

    The raccoon reaching for the morsel of food is sweet. I think raccoons are funny to look at.
