this is a special treat. best made with beefsteak tomatoes that are picked before they ripen. When I think of oranges, I think of Florida and navel oranges. If I had a postcard of the sweet, sweet oranges of Valencia I would be showing that.
I like cranberry sauce, but when I discovered lingonberry jam at IKEA, that became my favourite
although apples are available all year round, in fall we tend to get more and new varieties and I love trying them all out. my new favourites are lobos and cosmic crisp and something called sweetango.
this one was received from Finland
Big contrast between the vast mounds of Florida oranges and the people on top of ladders with shoulder bags which makes me think I would rather be picking apples with that happy girl.
ReplyDeleteMy fruit and veg are here
mmmh.. I love fried green tomatoes! Great card! The Finnish card is too cute.
ReplyDeleteOh, those Florida orange grove postcards! I have so many! I have one from California. I didn't know Wisconsin had cranberries, I think of them as more eastern, and surprisingly, my own state, Oregon.
ReplyDeleteMine, and I do indeed have Florida oranges!

In the Valencian region we keep the orange trees shorter, so we don't need ladders to get the oranges! ;)
ReplyDeleteI went for cherries today.
By the way, just let me know if someone desperately needs a postcard from Valencian oranges!
I guess you never got my oranges postcard? I sent it at the end of October, but I guess it got caught in a storm, when the mailbox I used to post my mail in was flooded.
DeleteIn November I sent a Xmas one... And I guess it was trapped in the strike.
I hope we'll have better luck in 2025!
