a bridge that was started in 1954 and completed in 1957, the five mile long Mackinac connects the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan over the Straits of Mackinac that separates Lakes Huron and Michigan
There is a driver assistance program where, for a fee, you can have someone drive your vehicle for you if you are fearful. Around 1,000 people take advantage of this every year.
Ooh a transport service for snowmobiles to cross the Mackinac Bridge, that was a surprise. I will now view Canadian bridges in a different winter light.
ReplyDeleteMy bridges are here
Sorry I saw the word snowmobile and thought Canada, forgetting I'd read Michigan LOL. Still thinking of those Canadian bridges further north.
ReplyDeletewow! the first bridge takes my breath away....
ReplyDeleteI'd take advantage of the assistance program! It is quite a reasonable cost. I do not drive across bridges (big ones, long ones) if it can be helped, and it usually can be helped!
