Battle of the Saintes (France and Britain),  1782
 the British won
considered the greatest naval battle ever fought in the Caribbean.  the colour of the sky may in part be due to cannon and musket fire?

although it has nothing to do with the sky, if interested, this is an account of the day

A sad event, but the stamp is magnificent. I guess there is smoke on the sky, too.

I went for starry skies.

It's a very pretty sky. Even if some is smoke. My skies look pretty at sunset when there are wildfires, so... :)

Oh wow, a battle stamp! The smoke and gunpowder from the cannons and muskets could definitely have contributed to the dramatic sky. It's a great detail actually and it adds to the overall "atmosphere".

Mine is an African night sky.
