Violets are the birth flower for February and symbolizes faithfulness, modesty.
They are also associated with death and resurrection, so are often seen as Easter flowers.

Having been born in February, I guess Violets are then my birth flower. Cool. They are so quiet and gentle - not at all like me, but . . . oh well. :))
We've got wild violets in our mountains here, but the African violets which people have in their homes are also beautiful...and I never can get mine to bloom. Glad that soon there will be some wild ones. Lovely card!
Your card may have the same flowers that are worn by the young woman on my post this weekend! She has a corsage of sorts but since it is a sepia tone photo I didn't recognize them, but the blossom shape is so similar to these that it now adds a violet color I could not see.
A pretty card, and Easter is not far away now.

ReplyDeleteI was thinking about the wild violets I used to find in the woods in spring when I lived in the north woods.
