Much of Mendelssohn's work was created when he was very young - Overture to A Midsummer Night's Dream (The Wedding March) was composed in 1826 when he was just 17.

I don't think I've seen a portrait of Mendelssohn before.
I like his signature, its a nice portrait too.
I have received this very stamp! Me too, I like the signature on the stamp.
DId not realize he started his work when so young.
