Helter Skelter

sent around 1910? indecipherable writing, no stamp

An amusement ride, with scores of people queuing to climb the stairs inside the lighthouse, then slide down the outside.

Looks interesting. I am wondering whether it functioned as a lighthouse as well as an amusement ride.

I don't believe so. Perhaps Bob Scotney can enlighten us?

Wow...Now I understand. I read a book once about "Helter Skelter" but it was NOT a happy book. One now understands where the term actually came from. I thank you for this post. It is utterly fascinating.

Have a lovely day, my Friend! Happy PFF!
